That's a nice video. Move the camera 10 degrees down so I can see the altimeter and airspeed and you can be my cinematographer. I'm interested in how people are able to use cockpit videos for training vs. entertainment-- have you found anything specific actionable with this?Got a camera installed and flew Sportsman today. Pretty ugly, but the camera is really helpful to see some things I would never have caught myself in the air. Plenty to work on between now and the spring Sebring contest in April.
I will say I was pleased with my Immelman and Split S. Keeping the nose high from the start of the half roll out of the Immelman to the end of the half roll into the Split S is key to coming out of the S at a reasonable airspeed. Also found that firmly setting stick forward in the inverted 45 on the Wedge keeps the airspeed manageable during the 2/4 roll.
Totally off-the-wall conversation point: I very rarely use 2 hands on the stick, but only when my right arm is sore or when I can't get a movement right- like to make sure I've got full left aileron. I almost always fly with my left hand on the throttle and find that when my hand does drift to the struts it seems to throw me off, sort of competing arm movements. Do you find yourself gripping the strut with force or is it just a place to rest your hand?
