Bellanca Inverted Oil System Manual 320

Ok I sent it , I need to make the pickup and the tube it pivots on if anyone can help me with the drawing or photographs that would be great , I could make it from a photograph and dimensions I know

Try giving Rainbow Flying Services a call. Ron probably has the largest inventory of used parts and the most extensive experience with older Citabria stuff. He might be able to help.

I took these pics when I recently overhauled my 8KCAB engine. Although the airplane had 2000 hrs from new on it when purchased, the engine starved of oil by way of the "swivel" section being seized such that the screen side of the two piece assy was positioned horizontally.
I had not previously been into an engine with the "flop tube" STC mod.
My guess is that it was assembled incorrectly during the "oil pump gear" AD some years earlier. The swivel joint was actually rusted in position.
The assy had to be disassembled to remove the baffle plate after sump removal.

Would you happen to have a photo that shows the context of the tube a little better? Maybe another photo from farther out? I've never seen in there before. Thanks

I don't have a drawing for the pan baffle I would love to see that or a good photograph of the complete thing. Soon I will post photographs of what I've got I've been building already , I found a bitchen filter screen to use ,

Sorry I don't have any other pics. The engine is now running so opportunity lost this time around.
If anyone performs he 400hr periodic inspection described in the Manual 320 attached above, they might consider getting better pics of the tubes separated.
The inner tube is a neat sliding fit in the outer and from memory it went in about two inches. Since it is on the suction side of the pump the tolerance is as neat as possible whilst allowing freedom to rotate as engine angles change.
Again, the reason for the damage to my engine was that the inner tube was seized in the outer not allowing it to swivel down into the oil.

I really appreciate the follow through on the Bellanca inverted oil system topic, it’s rarely brought up and, as we’re seeing, content covering it is non-existent.
