Since the early 80's, Peter Egan has been my favorite author concerning cars and motorcycles. Like me, he likes old and funky mechanical stuff. He wrote for both Car & Driver and Cycle World magazines.

It turns out that he is a pilot, too, and he's recently published a book about a 1987 trip with his wife from Southern California to Florida, Wisconsin, and back to L.A. in a 65hp J3. It's a delightful adventure!

The title is; "Landings in America" Two People, one summer, and a Piper Cub.

Here's a quote from the book that might not be original to him but made me smile;

"You don't Land a Cub. You just get it close to the ground and then try to prevent it from landing for as long as possible"
