Hi everyone out there in internet land!

Would anyone happen to have a favorite head mounted rechargeable work light that they'd recommend? I'm tired of burning through AAA batteries every three or four hours for only mediocre light but my hangar is dark so I need an upgrade!

Thanks in advance!
Bart

Fenix brand sells amazing headlamps. I’d check them out. They have a ton of different models to choose from. I have one that also has a red light in addition to a flood light and a more focused beam. They also have amazing Black Friday deals. I’d wait until then to buy.

Thanks for the reply, I'll take a look at those

I found this one via youtube video

This is similar but a little different

Bart,

I looked at those two you posted. I don’t like that they don’t have a center strap to distribute the weight. They do have a twist focus mechanism that is a must have for any work light. When I’m working on my plane, especially upside down in some ridiculous contorted position, being able to adjust where the light hits is invaluable.

This is the link to the one I have.

Good point on the center strap!

So, I ended up ordering the Coast XPH 34R , it's got the center strap like SkylarkTC recommended so I can also wear it when the running club goes for night runs which I haven't tried yet. In looking at the options I also decided I wanted to have spare batteries that can be charged and easily swapped out to keep a work session going. A USB-C cable can be plugged directly into the battery cell making them easy to keep charged. Rather than buy a second battery, I bought a flashlight that comes with an interchangeable cell so I can keep the battery charged and have a flashlight on hand for when its needed. The Coast was also less expensive than the Fenix which made buying the flashlight easier.

I've had Milwaukee power tools so would have been happy to go that route but didn't see a Milwaukee with the twist-to-focus feature or the higher Lumen rating similar to the Coast.

Thanks for the help!
