8KCAB Floorboards?

I was thinking more about just the wood versus carbon weight and I don’t think the difference was that much. Maybe 2-3lbs. Carpet was the real savings and being able to run the side upholstery under the floor without any hardware.

Plum sexy looking, did u put nut plates and screws instead of the clips to hold it in place? If so which nut plates were used I’m lazy and don’t want to look up part numbers😁

I think they were 8s, and assumed they came that way - I can find out tomorrow, because I am going to do the exact same thing, except with flat heads and dimpled washers. My floorboards won't look as good as yours, because I am not going to the lumberyard for new plywood. I did the Cub in Baltic Birch 2000 hours ago, and really like it.

I think it was Bruce that asked. Goodyear's floorboards went in with standard #8 Tinnerman nuts and #8 sheet metal screws. The tabs did not have Tinnermans on them when the installation started. I think it had those little "poke them in" things, like mine.
What are the rest of you doing?

How much are the carbon floor boards? fwiw, it might be good to put a layer of matte or semi-gloss clear vinyl over the carbon fiber because scratches will ruin that nice look!

I think it was $1,100. According to ACA they wear fine without coating and they don’t use heel plates. But I think you have a good point.

total $1100.00 total $412.21 $687.79 or $114.63 per pound saved at 6 lb
This was my price back on April 9th for the weight saving didn't seem worth it to me. Wish they offered the engine cowl in carbon fiber after the hours and fiberglass dust I've been eating. But again may not be worth the money

I like the look, but at $1100, I'm thinking wood plus a carbon fiber vinyl wrap might be the sweet spot. :D

Why not just wood? Cubs have had wood floors for 3/4 of a century, painted black, with no metal kick plates. That's where I am heading. I was going to do Baltic Birch, but now I think the originals will do fine. Time to patch and paint.
