Hello from Portland, OR

Good information! I’ll have to get in touch after the new year. I’ve been interested in getting out to some new places. Also interested in learning more about the Carbon Cubs.

How long is Flying M these days? I used to land there all the time in the old days, but I thought you weren't supposed to land there any more, and I know they put a road (and maybe a ditch?) through the middle of the runway.

No ditch but the same road crosses. prob 600- 700 ft of airstrip left. All of the runway is still there but I guess you are only suppose to use what Mitchell still owns. barb Mitchell was still doing a breakfast there on Sunday mornings. she only misses a couple Sundays a year. Maybe 5 to 10 planes there on any good day. Her husband did pass away a few months ago and I have not flown out in many months so I am not 100 % sure she still is doing. was a good breakfast, what ever she cooked, and a donation jar. Lots of cubs a few RV's and maybe a 182 and a maule. Ya I learned at Hillsboro and worked pumping gas. we were not allowed to take rental planes in there but always were flying instructors in and out for weekend dancing...… Not sure on the weather but maybe I will get up early and head over. If you are much later than 815 you are not getting any of the homemade sticky buns.....

6-700 feet is too short for me. I'm sure the airplane could do it, and I could probably do it, but no.

ya and the approach is the same as always, the hill sneeks up for some and you have to be on top of the flare to not embarrass yourself...

probably many that wish they would have thought twice before going there. Really not a bad strip but freaks some folks out. and got to have the right plane

do yo ever do the twin oaks flying breakfast ? first sat of the month I think... Big EAA event
