Howdy folks,
I am restoring a 1976 7GCBC with a skylight. I have a new one from LP Aeroplastics. I have called several times and sent an email to their tech staff and have thus far received crickets. The skylight I removed had tape wrapped over the top from the wing roots, and also strips at the fore and aft edges of the skylight, painted to match aircraft. It was the original fabric, probably Ceconite and Randolf coatings. I have read that the MEK used in the Polyfiber process will damage the acrylic. Nevertheless, I know that ACA uses the Polyfiber process on their new birds. Anybody have any suggestions or guidance on how I can get this new skylight installed without ruining it using the Polyfiber system? Thanks much. If this doesn't work I guess I can call Chad at ACA, but recent communications with him have been somewhat uninspiring - i.e. missing drawings and parts from kits I have purchased. Hard to find good help these days I guess.
