Does anyone have pictures of how the fabric side panels attach to the floor boards on late model ACA aircraft? I understand there is an angle bracket and the fabric panel somehow attaches to the bracket. I am replacing the floor boards on my Decathlon and will be omitting the carpet so don't want to staple the fabric to the floor like it was done previously.

Another related question. I was unable to remove the baggage compartment floor board regardless of how I turned it. Perhaps I just wasn't able to get the angles just right but I was nervous about the edges of the floorboard pushing up against the fabric and cracking the paint. I came to the conclusion that the only way to remove it was during recover or by cutting it into two pieces. Am I missing something?

The baggage area floor panel can't be taken out with the fabric on the plane. You can cut it up, remove it, and then put in a new floor in two pieces with a seam down the middle. My 7ECA had a piece of T channel down the middle with the two pieces screwed into it along the seam.

For the side panels, the angle piece is slid into a pocket along the bottom of the panels and then they are held with spring fasteners that should pry out. The tops have to be released from their spring supports first to get to the fasteners along the bottom which means you might have to also remove the upper window sill trim pieces. That's how I understand it.

In reverse, the side panels' spring fasteners go through the angle piece into a hole in the floor board. A piece of wire goes through a pocket along the top of the panels and springs hook onto the wire and then through the windowsill channel to suspend the side panels.

I can visualize what you are saying with angle, however, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by 'spring fastener' in reference to the lower attachment.

Thanks for the confirmation regarding the baggage floor board.

@Bartman I have created a set of CAD files for the floorboards for the 8KCAB (less baggage). Mine had been copied poorly in the past and it was time for a set of crisp ones. I am also working on firewall patterns (for the 150HP with rear mounted governor) and have a simple wing rig board drawn in CAD. Is there a repository where I can post these files in the event they are helpful for someone else?
