Let's See Those Champs!

We've got enough Champ'ers here to get a nice thread of pictures rolling so let's see those Champs!
First pic is my airplane as a resident of the Canada Air museum back in the 2000s. 2nd pic is what she presently looks like.

I call them all Champs. Yesterday the ground controller asked "what is your type?"
I said "Bravo Lima 8, but you can call me a Champ."

Decathlon has three syllables, Citabria four, and in our busy environment extra syllables get in the way.

Not having a transponder makes this much easier ;)

I am soon picking up a new to me champ 7AC I am thinks about changing the tail wheel to a bigger one. Are there options? I was thinking a Maule or a Scott. Do anyone have thought or ideas
Thanks
Gary

No idea why you would want to drag around a bigger and heavier tailwheel, but Scott 3200 or Bushwheel equivalent is the way to go. At my partner's insistence, I put a 3200 on the J-4, and really have no complaints at all.

All these little airplanes need is an API.

The tail wheel looks like a Maule it is about 61/2” tall and 2-1/2 to 3” wide hard rubber. I am going to stick with it for now. The CFI was saying a different tail wheel would help it on a hard paved runway. I am not sure I agree.
What is the shortest grass strip you guys are comfortable with. I know of one with a decent approach, about 6° uphill, one way in and one way 1,000 foot long
I would like to work up to it after I get more time in her

Our Citabria spends summers in Bozeman with my brother and winters in Tucson with me. (This makes for a fun1000-mile "commute" twice a year.) We've been exchanging the airplane for 20+ years.

My brother flew his daughter down to West Yellowstone Airport for breakfast a few days ago and sent me a photo. I think it's great that they are enjoying it while it's way too hot to fly here.

Oops! This isn't the thread for Citabria photos. Oh well, sometimes I check in at non-tower fields as "Superchamp".

I call them all Champs. What tower controller wants to recite "Bellanca Super Decathlon 38 Echo?"
