N number change

I don't know the regs on small numbers but could you go buy small numbers at home depot and then pull them off when you're ready to do the big ones?

There are a lot of special cases in the AC, but as I read it, no. Getting that wrong would be more likely to get noticed than a temp number fashioned from tape.

If I had some white dope remaining (I don't), I could brush on a number, then cover with yellow and repaint white stenciled later. But then my new paint job might look blotchy. I have a can of bahama blue, but I would need to overpaint that in white and yellow to erase.

Using tape strong enough to stay on in flight might leave residue.

I could buy a roll of stencil vinyl at Walmart and try to lay out letters myself. But that would take hours.

Unfortunately, unless my stencil magically appears by early afternoon today, I think I am driving to SnF tomorrow. So close!!

Didn't even think of that. Thanks! Now my cheapo side is coming in, though. Dropped 60 bucks on that stupid stencil from Spruce!

One other idea ... I could probably buy stencils from a Vendor at SnF. But then I'd have to pay 45 bucks admission. If I fly in, my son and I get free passes! Heck, that's an argument in favor of the sign shop.
 
Let me see!!! I remember being told always time to do it over but never time to do it right the first time😨 wait thats what I told my guys at the auto repair shop.

Point being every time I try to rush or get by cheap it always takes me longer and cost more. If I was that close I’d just drive over and finish the plane wile not rushing. It’s mor enjoyable this way. Did I mention my 6 month project is now over 2 years and still not done😂
