Hello All- I'm a soon to be owner of a project 1960 Champ 7GC which is currently in storage with the wings removed. I used an A&P for the pre-buy inspection but would love some advice on transporting it 75 miles in North Florida with 3 flat tires. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated.

I've transported my Citabria in a rental 22' box truck. Easy! The wings stacked under the fuselage with big pieces of 3" thick foam rubber under and between them. Make sure your ramps are secure!

Measure your aircraft end-to-end. If it's too long, removing the spinner, rudder, and tailwheel shortens it up considerably. If that's not enough, removing one horiz stabilizer and parking it diagonally helps, too.

A cheap, hand-cranked HF boat winch will pull it up the ramps.

Once the wheels are in the truck, two guys can pick up the tail and roll it in.
