But the tailwheel ears, which seems parts are getting more scarce for, the SS chain end links are attached right to, and would be wearing on, the tailwheel ears, is there something sacrificial that can, or should, go there?
Thanks

I have never worn one out, and believe me I have tried. Eight landings today, and that was a slow day. But I have had those little toilet clips fail often enough that I use heavy steel wire for the attach. My heavy steel has never failed.
But you can buy bolts - AN bolts - with an ear on top, for the toilet clip to fit in, and while your angle is pretty good, they make angles a lot better on some other aircraft types.

There are also these neat mountain climbing things that are stronger than all get-out, and have a screw on barrel that makes them a continuous oval. Dirt common, but I do not know their name. Oops - carabiner!
In that case I’ll leave it aloneIf your angle is ok, you don't need them. If you don't need them you save $ and weight.
