Anybody know what a set of Bendix Scintilla Magneto's type SF4RN8 with wires and plugs are worth? They were a running set when I switched to Slick Mags. These include wires, plugs, an gears off a Continental A65-8.
I am pretty sure you could sell them for the core value. Last I heard that was in the $500 range.
Overhaul is approaching two grand, so I recently learned how to do that myself. Parts are expensive.
I think a lot of the $2K is for liability insurance. Actual assembly is trivial, except for the baking of the porous bronze bearings.
