Hi all,

The settings in place for the site should prevent spammers from being able to send private messages or post spammy threads to the site. If you receive anything from spammers please let me know what it was and how they contacted you.

Hi all,

Server crashed yesterday morning and it took most of the day for it to be fixed. I got an odd message from the host co. this morning that we were hacked but I'm still awaiting follow up from them on it.

If the site is down again, just give us some time, I'll be working on it and it'll be back up.

It's the internet, it happens.

spam shows up once in a while, if you see it before I do please flag it so I'll know to delete it and the spammer when I visit. Thanks
 
FYI, pretty sure new member Breakingbad is a scammer, based on a private message from him. The message referenced another member and a shady Gmail account to contact for buying aircraft parts. Just wanted to warn the group not to fall for it!
 
Finally raining here in NJ so I took some time today and deleted about 700 inactive/spammy accounts from the past year, deleted some dead sub-forums, and reorganized the layout a bit.

Maybe 2025 will be the year I start doing airshow and fly-in coverage for the site. I'd really like to but just haven't been able to justify the time commitment it takes, both to attend and then to do write-ups and photo dumps. All in due time I suppose but we're a little more efficient in our existence after today. :TU:

On another note, I may change the settings so that visitors (that's you) would have to sign in to see beyond the first post of each thread. The Classifieds area would remain open to the public so all y'all can sell your stuff more easily.

I know we have more traffic here than it appears so encouraging people to sign in would help.

Thanks for keeping the site up and running. A lot of the sites I use have gone to 2 part sing in where they have to send a code before accessing the whole site.

Spammers are kinda fun when it’s not just automated, I like to start off with “tell me how did your life get to this point?” Or “Was this what you wanted to be as a child?” Another good one “Are your parents proud of you?”

Please report suspicious private messages by clicking the word REPORT in the lower left of the private message box. I'll check them and ban anyone using private messages to scam members of the site. Thanks!
 
A spammer got through the system and sent out a batch of private messages trying to scam our members. Please please please, always notify me when you get suspicious private messages from brand new members so I can investigate.

Spam activity reported today in private messages. I received one in response to a wanted ad I posted in the classifieds a while back as did another member of the site. Please use the Report feature to notify me of suspicious emails as I really enjoy deleting spammy users.
