Tape for inspection panels?

Steen made some with a single center screw that would tighten down a internal spider.

I used to lose the inner ones on my Stinson, that fixed it right as rain

That is prevented by a #4x1/4 sheet metals screw and a clip Tinnerman nut.

The little spring inside the dome is at 45 degrees to the sirflow and the screw is dead center forward, with the hole in the middle of the ring.

This is the stuff you're looking for. Keep a pair of scissors at the hangar and cut a 2" strip off for the leading edge of the inspection panels that like to wiggle their way loose over time. Won't peel paint off when you remove it. Works great on the Skybolt.

My theory is the camera and mount on the tie down ring created some interesting airflow over that panel. Fabric is from 2023 from the factory and this is the first panel that’s exited.

I’ve used a few strips of vinyl electrical tape across the front of the cover plate and haven’t lost any. Home Depot has it in different colors.
