8KCAB Trim cable grommets in frame?

thanks Todd! I will give that a try.

are we talking mapp gas hot or heat gun hot?
I use mapp but I never tried a heat gun, your dies steel or aluminum? I made mine from steel. Heat just the die that is going to roll the grommet not everything

gave the Mapp torch a try today. first attempt was way too hot and melted the eyelet. 2nd attempt was better but still resulted in destruction of the eyelet. 3rd try left the eyelet intact but didn't roll the end over like it should have. I am out of the short eyelets so I'm going to cut the longer ones short and keep trying.

4th time's a charm I guess?

about 17 seconds in the mapp gas flame, pressed into place and wet with a rag to cool so the plastic could set again, and it is done. two more to go.

I have never checked the die temperature with an infrared thermometer but it does takes a little trial and error to get them to form over nicely. I am not a fan of the copper eyelets on Ron's wooden formers, I replace those with the plastic ACA ones too.

I spoke to Dale about those. the trim cable barely moves so it does ok riding against the grommets.

are there also grommets where the rudder cables go through the formers?
