Went Flying Today 2020

The USS Midway, great photo, really shows how large it is.

Can't duplicate the "Bay Tour" - It is a beautiful flight, but 800' above congested areas is going to get somebody some day. But yesterday I flew this - turns out I may be the only CFI in San Diego with Waco ZPF-7 experience. 275 hp Jacobs, C/S prop, smooth as glass! No, I don't get to drive the Ford.

The Midway is across the Bay outside the left window. That is the USS Abraham Lincoln.

doh! you guys have two aircraft carrier museums or is the AL operational? haven't had a layover in San Diego in eons, what a great place to flop for the night.

3 active carrier groups and one carrier museum. The Abraham Lincoln is in port undergoing maintenance. In June the first woman captain takes over its command.

Who would know? Thanks for taking an interest. If you are out here either Bob or myself will be happy to give you the tour. Although with Bob you will get a few rolls.

Last day for entries to this thread!

Last I flew was a couple of weeks ago, to a new hangar with enough room for old '11G and a project (and my Mom's old daily driver which I continue to be the non-owner caretaker for). So it's me, the plane, and the car, all vintage 1968! lol
