What oil level does your engine like?

I have a 8KCAB with the 180hp engine + constant speed prop (AEIO-360-H1A) . It seems to burn about a half quart (at most) every 20-30 hours. This to me is amazing, especially to various planes I've rented or borrowed in the past. My bird seems to like having about 5.5 quarts of oil in it; if I put more in, after a while it goes back down to 5.5 and sortof stabilizes there (leaving petroleum products aerosolized over farm fields, i suppose). The rudimentary POH says to "check oil level", but doesn't have a recommended level in the checklist. Elsewhere, it says "minimum aerobatic oil level" should be 6 quarts. And I do aerobatics on about three quarters of my flights. So here's my question: Where do y'all keep your oil level?

My O320 maintains right around 5-5.5qts. Add more and it will drop back down after a flight or two.

5 1/2 seems ok for my 360. Much less and my system (Christen) doesn't like the transition from upright to inverted. But I have a sluggish system anyway - there is a mod (I think by B&C) that is on later models that makes the oil pressure barely flicker when slow rolling.

I had heard that inverted flight causes a bit more oil to go overboard - I think that is true, but like you I get pretty good mileage out of my oil.
