Hey gang, doing an annual on a friend’s 1974 7eca Citabria, and ran across this issue (see pic) on the fuel strainer. Looks like a plug of some kind is missing. My question is whether it’s a vented plug, or is a common plug bolt appropriate. I’ve looked through the parts manuals I can access and all I can find are the basic line drawings, which lack detail. From on line digging here, believe it’s a Rockwell 112 fuel strainer? Can’t find photos of the top detail either. Thanks…

Larry, I've never seen a strainer with a fitting in the top where that hole is. As far as I know, fuel comes in and goes out with a drain out the bottom. I see the fuel staining around that hole but I'd be curious to see if it is drilled through the top of the strainer. Wouldn't the fuel all drain out if it were completely open to the fuel supply?

Almost looks like a AC 112 gascolator.
There would be two such threaded holes to attach to the mounting bracket.
