Yes. There is one here in Fairbanks that is operated on B2550 straight floats. It is one hell of a performer.

Had a Stinson with Franklin 180 and C/S prop. A show-stopper! It would go straight up with a load. A poor man's 180!
Franklins require a really knowledgable mechanic. If they do the mag check at 1700, the check will fail.

Tough discussion to get into. Super Cubs and Scouts. They have different personalities but are both great to hang out with. I have equal time in both and when I am flying either one I don’t really wish I was in the other. The Cubs will definitely land slower. My Scout has 775 lb useful load. I could never be over gross even with 135 lb baggage with the extended baggage STC. The 2000 lb upgrade to the Super Cubs helps equal that out. I would take an offer to fly either one in a heart beat.
