Hi to all,
Is there anybody who had engine cooling trouble and thought about enlarging the exit in the bottom cowling (and dares to talk about it)?
We have a bit of trouble with the cht of the 3rd cylinder and went to a lot of things to get rid of it. The whole right side (so no. 1 as well) is hotter than the other side.
It's a Citabria 7GCAA (1967) with an o-320 A2B engine with a carb. We have the same cowling as shown in the pictures. Measuring the inlet area at the front of the top cowling and the exit of the bottom one, the ratio is 1:1,15. Thats the gross exit area, there's 2 exhaust pipes blocking even more of it. Would be interested if someone else has found it necessary to do this and how it was done. Do you get away with a 337?
Thanks in advance,
Simon
