Fabric on a 1973 7GCBC still viable?

I am a newbie here and presently looking at a 1973 7GCBC. I believe the fabric is the original. I am considering having a pre-buy done on it but am wondering both if that is reasonable given the age of the fabric and specifically what tests should I ask for in the pre-buy if I decide to go ahead with that?

If it has been hangared it is probably ok. Look at the paint - too many cracks might mean expensive patching and repaint.
