Oshkosh 2022

I just bought my week-long pass today. We have until 6/15 to purchase the express arrival tickets which will mail your tickets and wrist bands directly to you vs having to get them in person at registration. Unfortunately for those camping under the wing, registration for that is still required in person.

I am loosely planning to arrive on Saturday before the show (7/23) but may change plans depending on weather. I arrived the Friday before the show last year and I felt that it was just a but too early. I am trying to balance being early with the last minute arrival push.
 
Unfortunately the chances of me getting my aircraft airworthy by then are zero point zero. If my buddy goes in his twin beech I might tag along, depending on a lot of factors.
 
Looks like I’m driving up since I’m in Wyoming unless some one has an empty seat and would like some company and help with fuel😁 my airport is PNA pinedale Wyoming.

That's a long, flat drive lengthwise over Nebraska and Iowa. But an awesome fly-in camping spot halfway at Johnson Lake, NE.
 
The original plan was to drive up then after the show go back to TN and put the ECA together but we ended up setting up a STOL competition weekend of Aug 13 so now we’re headed back for that then we get to drive to TN which once again slowed me down on my 90 day project which is in its third year, funny how that works.
 
Less than 2 weeks out! Started to get excited. I am on my last work trip before going on vacation through 8/2. I might end up going up early, as early as Thursday or Friday before. I want to get a good spot near theatre in the woods.
 
Getting ready to head to Air Venture we’re leaving WY tue 19 then a stop in Hartford Wi. To help with Sodbusters STOL event At HXF On the 23 so stop by and join the fun, then hope to meet some of you at the show. Safe travels to all.
 
Pretty great AirVenture this year! I'm not without my complaints but overall it was a good event. 2 of our aircraft were featured in the "Vintage Showcase" flyover during the Wednesday airshow, which was pretty cool! Not sure I'll fly in/wing camp next year as a week of tent camping gets pretty exhausting towards the end.
