Very easy installation. The unit comes with the connector preloaded with a wire bundle. Just had to wire power, ground, oat, and then plumb the pitot and static into the unit. paid my mechanic $75 to oversee the process. Lee

About 2”. With the cable connector I would guess you need least 3-4” total. The install manual can be found on the internet. Lee
