Wood spars

A C-90 crank is made out of unobtainium. Do you at least have a data plate and logs?

When restoring an older Champ, Cub, Stinson, Stearman, etc., it is always best to get a fully assembled if bedraggled airplane. Then you can fix stuff, instead of buying. An engine without a crank is probably not worth much - even used undersize cranks are in the five grand range.

All opinion.
man,I need to check my attic,I have some A65 parts,couple crankcase halfs,a crankshaft,some old jugs,lol

Some A-65 cranks are C-85 parts.

I had a junk 65 laying around - tried to sell it for a grand. Pulled it apart and found a “standard” C-85 crank.

Who is going to sign off on your work when it's done?
I know a couple of IA’s in my area that are willing to help. They are both very busy and more than a few miles away. I’m a never give up guy and as the project moves along, they will be accommodating.

I don’t pretend this project was fully researched before I dove in but here I am. I’m considering a O-200 conversion. Talking to various mechanics and pilots I get different versions of what can be done with the engine parts I have.
i have the case, two new cylinders, cam, and mags. Do you have any advice?

Cylinders and cam followers are the same, as are the case nuts and bearings. Cam and case are different. Don’t know about the gears. Be sure to cut that starter pilot off before assembly.

If it was a C-90-12, the mags should work.

I just went through this with my 7GCBC project. tons of ribs were damaged. When I first started, I thought I would only be able to fix a few of them. As I went along, I was able to fix most of them.

AC 43.13-1b. Look at Chap 4 para 4-58.

Vintage, no need for a video I can see already by pics what I need to know, Thank You! Brian
