Hell’s Canyon today. Some work being done on the plane tomorrow. Hopefully weather will improve down south for Thursday start.

Made it to San Diego! Plane is in the hangar with 2” to spare. 1” on top.
Left Nampa Idaho this morning. Had to go by way of Carson City then over the hill at Lake Tahoe. Bakersfield then over LAX and landed KMYF at night.

Welcome back. Put blocks under the brakes - Glenn can show you. Protects wing if a tire goes flat.

Scout finally made it to San Diego! Flew down from Nampa yesterday. In the hangar with only inches to spare. Glad to be home but sorry to leave the great exploring up in Idaho.

Here you go. Nampa to SD

Called the factory-8.50x6 is the smallest wheel and tire combo certified for the 8gcbc Scout.

I would not have asked. Field approval!

But look at the type certificate data sheets - A21CE - Bart has a link. There is no apparent restriction there.

The Scout is great so far. I have flown it about 40 hours in the last month. Comfortable, very straightforward ground handling. I have the o-360 with a fixed pitch climb prop which has been fine in the cooler weather. I flew in the Idaho backcountry last month with gross about2050lbs, no problems climbing out of canyons. I have extended wingtips and vg’s and it lowers stall speed by 3-4 mph. Cruise is slower of course, but acceptable for a short field performer. ADSB is being installed next week along with 2 g-5s to give me gps nav heading and an attitude indicator. I am sure the constant speed and 390 engine would be amazing. If I had the budget a new Scout would be great

Scout is finally in the shop. Interior is coming out, frame inspection begins this week. Met with the upholstery folks today.
