That piece also allows for the rear access panel to be removed for battery service. The 2 holes in the lower corners are for the attachment latches.

I had my nose in the hangar today, but did not see you. Meant to take a look.

Light mist, 62 degrees, had the airport to myself. Ten landings on five different runways in 33 minutes including taxi. Didn't see a soul until the Stearman party - musta been ten people there.

Sorry I missed you Belly is coming off. David wants to talk to you about the Spruce reinforcement for the formers.

Could not weld a new seatbelt attach point in the rear as it is too close to the wood formers and the welder cannot reach the joint from the rear. So, going forward we are using the Hooker STC for “non-welded” rear belt attachment. Since the headliner is removed it is an easy install and we will sew an opening in the new headliner where the strap attach point extends into the cabin. The front belt tab was already installed but the re-enforcement tubes cannot be welded in without removing the fabric-so no go until we do a recover down the road.

Extended baggage is in. Former repairs and reinforcements completed.

Avionics starting to go in today. Baggage door fit perfect after a lot of tweaking. Todd has done a great job at Aeromechanix.

Progress. Hope to get the motor mounts replaced soon and new baffling. Then we can replace the headliner and side panels. Then some fabric touch up paint, baggage door paint and we will be done. Fingers crossed.

Did not know you had joined the faculty at WSLS. Interesting times.

Did you see the Cub runup? Test flight is imminent!

Good luck with the Cub. Look forward to seeing it in the pattern. I will be out there tomorrow. Probably Super Cub.

Drop by. Six foot rule for me. Goes both ways; the Greek has been in and out of far too many grocery stores this week.
