Bart - I thought yours would be done by now - what's the status?

just noodling through what's left before it goes to the factory for new wings and final paint/assembly. they're very backed up so July turned into October which is now March. If they actually take it in March it'll probably be November next year when I get it back. to be honest, if I could sell the project and break even I'd let it go and maybe buy another Citabria or a two-place biplane like an Eagle.

nice! is that mine all underground?
The gold and silver mines are underground shafts. The mine, Arizona's largest gold mine, opened in 1863. Phoenix began as a farming area to feed the mine workers and the surrounding community of "Vulture City". The mine closed in 1942 and Vulture City became a ghost town. The surface buildings have been restored and tours are offered. https://www.vultureminetours.com/

Au revoir 2022. We had rain here yesterday, so the leftover moisture made for an unusually misty morning here in the desert.

Goodyear was reporting 5 miles visibility when I took off. On my way back about 45 minutes later GYR had gone IFR, 2 mile viz. I heard GYR tower issue a special VFR clearance to another inbound aircraft. Then the controller said, "We just checked and you're the first fixed-wing special VFR clearance we've had here in twenty years."

The pilot, in a very proper British dialect, said, "I'm choking up."

I called in from 15 miles out and requested SVFR, but by the time I got close to the Class D, the airport went VFR.

Howdy,

Last flight of 2022 year today. Really wish I had the skis installed on my 7ECA. I was so wishing. It looked great as I was taxiing down the taxi way, and even better from the air. Places to land everywhere (With Skis) in the snow.

My plane really dislikes pavement! I did get to practice a lot in the circuit today. Really fun. Just around 38F, overcast and light winds. Got to do a bunch of wheel landing practice for when skis get installed, I will be ready.

Just landed in North Ms. Great afternoon! Temps in the 60s! Took a 77 year young Champ Driver with me.
I was having so much I forgot to snap a picture!
Happy New Year’s flying to all!

I just completed the sale of my last hangar yesterday so as of 2023 I'm out of airplanes and buildings...🥺🥳🥺.
I'm still lurking here and on other sites to have something to do. I'll live vicariously thru everyone building stuff here...interesting projects for me without having to spend any money! Win Win.
Happy and Safe New Year to all!
Chris
