2026 WENT FLYING TODAY! ***PICTURES/VIDEO THREAD***

Went flying today before the snow starts up again tomorrow. No pictures but I have to tell you guys about my landing. There was about an 8 kt crosswind and I was a little too fast so I dipped the right main down to touch the runway and held it on the right main while I went barreling down the runway. It was happy there so I took it in for a few more seconds before adding power and going around. I used to do single wheel touch and goes in C-152's when I was instructing but never tried it in a tailwheel! Of course, no pics or video unless maybe someone was there but it was fun and I was laughing out loud at how ridiculous it was as I went back around the pattern. :)

I'm really looking forward to this year's flying season!

Yeah - standard crosswind technique. We do full stall landings on one main and the tailwheel, and in the pattern often the downwind main never touches.

Yup, I’d usually land on the upwind main and tailwheel too but wheel landed it on the one main. I don’t usually do wheel landings, have to get the approach speed stuck at 70, over the fence at 65 and go back to 3 pointing them. First flight since early December, long winter over here.

Yeah, it’s just a tow bar, I had it tied down in the back also.

Does anyone anybody know if those mud fenders are an original part or is that something that somebody fabricated after? I have not seen any other pictures with that type of fender on.

Wheel Pants are called out in the TCDS Item 206.
Wheel Fenders Item 208.
I've seen ads of the Chief with pants but not the Champ.
