8KCAB IFR Certification

Let us know what your experience is flying it IMC. Mine has the xtreme wing - and it's not stable at all. My 7ECA was a piece of cake flying IMC, I could fly it hands off, no issues in bumpy clouds. As I fly out of coastal Maine a lot - IFR capability would still be of great use.

Wilco.

My 1977 wood spar is really easy to fly under the bag with a check pilot - but all I do is six ILS and a hold every six months. I do the approach at 90 mph.

Again, any global STC would have to have zero constraints on instruments snd nav equipment, other than those in the FARs, to be marketable.

I mostly train instrument pilots and instructors. I and my co-owners (and the Flight Test Pilot DER) made approaches under VFR to validate the IFR avionics upgrade.

I'm thinking a "multi" STC that stuck to the ACA tech drawing for the IFR Scout (and was the "basis of similarity" for my STC), combined with Garmin avionics that are approved on STC AMLs for the 8KCAB might be a viable strategy...but I don't know if there's a way to discuss this with a Certification Branch office or other agency. ACA probably would like a vote, given that this strategy depends on their tech drawing.
