What did you do to your bird today?

I kinda like the springs that Bellanca put on them. Only problem is if I lose a brake, taxiing in a moderate crosswind can be problematic.

I'm curious to see if not having tension on the steering arms of the tailwheel will help it to mellow out a little after landing. Anybody else see a plane other than a Champ/Citabria/Decathlon with steering springs that are in tension at all times, even when going straight ahead?

I'll report back if there's anything worth mentioning. @MitchellS any tendencies beyond heavy rudder pedal pressures worth mentioning?

I’ll see if I can find those other springs. And other than heavy pedals on the ground, nope feels fine in the air.

The left wing fuel drain developed a drip on Sunday that I couldn’t stop after a bunch of times jabbing it up and down trying to clear whatever was caught. Went out at lunch today with long gloves and a rag wrapped around each wrist and got it swapped out with relatively little fuss. Old one doesn’t look bad so I figure I’ll clean it up, find a new o-ring for the tip and have a spare for next time.

Good luck finding the correct o rings. If you get lucky please post a source.

Finished the last item on the to-do list today. Installed a closeout panel where the switch/fuse panel was previously located. Just waiting on good weather and a dry field to test run and fly.

Washed it... After sitting in a hanger for almost two years getting repaired after a prop strike and then a 2,000 mile flight getting her home it needed it. Still a 20' airplane, but now it's a clean one.
